The swimsuit, for some a joy, for others an overwhelming trip to a department store with too many options and risky advice. The biggest reason women find it hard to find the right swimsuit is because they often overlook their own unique needs. From body proportions and skin tone to the occasion that's prompting a new swimsuit purchase - it all comes down to a fit that flatters, you. On the most recent IndyStyle segment we highlighted swimsuits based on the most frequent comments and questions we hear from women who want a perfect swimsuit, and haven't found it just yet.
Top concerns we hear include... "I want my swimsuit to flatter a smaller bust size, without making me look awkward." or "My body type is not stick thin, but I really do want to wear a swimsuit." along with, "I like my curves, and I want to show off a little, but I don't want to look... too over the top."

ImageCube advises clients that to be attractive, every garment must fit you well. To be clear, when we say attractive, we are talking about balance and proportion. To look and feel great, you must balance your curves, accentuate a sporty physique, and use patterns, color-blocking, and accessories in proportion to the height and width of your frame. If you're unclear about your body type, give us a call, we are here to help.
As you look at the swimsuits shown, from right to left, there are several details to notice. The option on the far right is notable because it flatters with rusching and the 'V'-neck minimizes any roundness or fullness in the torso, this is ideal for those with an Apple-shape to their proportions. The second option is a tankini, which is ideal for the pear shape body. The red halter top is great for women with a fuller bust who want additional support that's visually balanced, and for those with a Pear-shape body, halter tops are an excellent choice. With it's adjustable skirt you can show or hide as much as you want, and find the optimal look for you. For example, if were to make the skirt longer it would minimize width in the hip area in just seconds. For women who want to enhance a smaller bust, without going to extremes, the fun, whimsical white polka dot bikini adds fullness with a little extra padding and ruffled edges. The style on the far left accentuates a fuller bust size, and is great for someone who is comfortable with their torso being the area of focus.

Once you're clear on your body type you'll want to determine if you want additional support or enhancement, for example, all of these swimsuits have underwire and the sizes are based on bra sizes. You can see any of these in person at Barbara's New Beginnings at Keystone at the Crossing. A great place to look for your next swimsuit, they can even give you a professional fitting that will change the way you buy garments! A great use of an afternoon before the summer gets any hotter.

IMAGE TIP: Notice that our ImageCube team added accessories to each of the looks today. Accessories will add a personal touch, so have fun with your earrings, necklaces, and shoes. And to add that finishing touch and final polish, swim dresses and sarongs are the best choice. You don't need to hide behind a swim dress, allow them to finish your overall look and you'll be ready for just about any event, casual or a post-work pool party. For 2012, don't fear swimsuit season, embrace it with a new awareness and a bit of glam style, and you'll do great!
